Whats with the Name?

This Must Be the Place is a organization that brings together the grit and grind that can only come from a life of struggle, puts it with the tenacity that it takes to endure a Quebec winter, and is propelled forward by the Appalachian tears that continue to fall as we lose our loved ones to the opioid epidemic.

We always knew that to bring harm reduction to the masses, we had to hit the road, going to find folks and equip them with life-saving naloxone BEFORE a tragedy happens in their life. Therefore, while based in Ohio, we travel nationwide to wherever we are called. And when we arrive, THIS MUST BE THE PLACE.

Naloxone is…

a medication approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) designed to rapidly reverse opioid overdose. It is an opioid antagonist—meaning that it binds to opioid receptors and can reverse and block the effects of other opioids, such as heroin, morphine, and oxycodone. Administered when a patient is showing signs of opioid overdose, naloxone is a temporary treatment and its effects do not last long. Therefore, it is critical to obtain medical intervention as soon as possible after administering/receiving naloxone.
